Travelling from Moscow to Nha Trang has become easier with direct air connections to Cam Ranh International Airport (CXR). For summer 2026, AZUR Air has confirmed the continuation of its Moscow–Cam Ranh programme, while current schedules also show direct Aeroflot services from Sheremetyevo to Cam Ranh.
Booking a flight, however, is only the first step. First-time Russian travellers should also prepare for Vietnam’s entry requirements, pre-arrival procedures, transport into Nha Trang, payment options, SIM/eSIM access and the choice between staying in central Nha Trang or the Cam Ranh area.
This guide follows the journey from leaving Moscow to starting your holiday in Nha Trang, covering the practical details worth preparing in advance.
| Information | What to know |
| Departure point | Moscow |
| Arrival airport | Cam Ranh International Airport |
| Airport code | CXR |
| Direct flights | Available in 2026; schedules vary by airline and season |
| Non-stop flying time | Around 10–11 hours |
| Visa for Russian citizens | Visa-free for up to 45 days, subject to entry requirements |
| E-visa | Up to 90 days, single or multiple entry |
| Cam Ranh → Nha Trang | Around 45–60 minutes by car |
| Currency | Vietnamese Dong (VND) |
| Time difference | Nha Trang is 4 hours ahead of Moscow |
| Better months for beach activities | Generally January to August |
One important detail is thatNha Trang does not have an airport in the city centre. International flights serving Nha Trang arrive at Cam Ranh, from where travellers continue by taxi, bus or private transfer.
If saving time and avoiding connections are priorities, a direct Moscow–Cam Ranh flight is the simplest option. AZUR Air has confirmed that its Nha Trang programme will continue from Moscow, Tyumen and Mineralnye Vody during summer 2026, with separate baggage rules published for Moscow–Cam Ranh services.
Aeroflot began scheduled Sheremetyevo (SVO)–Cam Ranh (CXR) services in March 2025. Flight schedule data updated in late July 2026 continues to show direct Aeroflot flights with a journey time of approximately 10 hours 10 minutes , although operating days may vary from week to week.
For families with young children, older travellers or passengers carrying several bags, flying direct also avoids terminal changes and additional baggage handling between sectors. If you are booking a charter flight, check the baggage allowance carefully, as airlines such as AZUR Air currently apply route-specific allowances for Moscow–Cam Ranh services.

If a direct flight does not work for your dates, budget or itinerary, another option is to fly into one of Vietnam’s major cities before taking a domestic connection to Cam Ranh.
The two most common transit points are Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Where possible, book both flights under the same reservation. With two separate tickets, you may need to collect and recheck your baggage and will have less protection if the first flight is delayed.
At present, citizens of the Russian Federation can enter Vietnam visa-free for stays of up to 45 days, provided they meet the relevant entry requirements. The current policy applies from 15 March 2025 until 14 March 2028.
According to Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, passports must remain valid for at least six months from the date of entry, and travellers must not fall under any category prohibited from entering Vietnam under current regulations.
For stays longer than 45 days, an e-visa may be an option. Vietnam’s official Immigration Department e-visa system currently allows electronic visas valid for up to 90 days, with either single or multiple entry. Published fees are USD 25 for a single-entry e-visa and USD 50 for a multiple-entry e-visa. 90 ngày, dạng một lần hoặc nhiều lần nhập cảnh.
From 22 June 2026, AZUR Air advised foreign passengers arriving at Cam Ranh to complete their immigration information within the 72 hours before arrival. Vietnam’s Immigration Department now operates a Pre-Arrival Information system that allows travellers to submit, review or update their information before entering the country.
As this is a relatively new procedure introduced in 2026, check the latest instructions from your airline and the Immigration Department shortly before departure.
After a long flight from Moscow, the journey does not end when you collect your luggage. Cam Ranh International Airport is outside central Nha Trang, so allow another 45–60 minutes for the road transfer.
| Transport | Reference Price | Time | Good for |
| Bus | VND 50,000/person | 60–70 minutes | Solo travellers with light luggage |
| 4-seat taxi | From around VND 300,000 | 45–60 minutes | Couples and small groups |
| 7-seat taxi | From around VND 360,000 | 45–60 minutes | Families and travellers with more luggage |
| Private transfer | Around VND 350,000-500,000 | 45–60 minutes | Families, groups and pre-booked transfers |
These are airport-published or indicative prices at the time of writing and may change. The terminal also lists Bus No. 18 between the airport and Nha Trang, passing several central streets including Tran Hung Dao and Nguyen Thien Thuat.
If you are travelling alone with minimal luggage, the bus can be the more economical option. After more than 10 hours in the air, however, a taxi or pre-booked transfer may make the final part of the journey more comfortable, especially for families.
For late-night arrivals, arrange transport before landing rather than waiting until you reach the terminal to decide. It is also useful to save your hotel name and address in English or Vietnamese so you can show it to the driver.

According to Khanh Hoa’s official digital tourism portal, January to August generally brings sunnier weather, lower rainfall and more favourable conditions for outdoor and sea activities. January to May tends to be milder, while June to August is sunnier and also coincides with the domestic peak season.
| Period | Typical conditions | Good for |
| January–May | Relatively mild sunshine, lower rainfall | Families, sightseeing, beach time |
| June-August | More sunshine, peak season | Swimming, islands, water activities |
| September–December | Higher rainfall | Flexible trips, city breaks |
For travellers leaving Moscow during the Russian winter, the first months of the year offer a noticeable contrast in climate. If visiting in the middle of summer, prepare for stronger sunshine and higher numbers of domestic travellers.
| Consideration | Central Nha Trang | Cam Ranh/Bai Dai |
| City sightseeing | Convenient | Longer transfers required |
| Restaurants and cafés | Many options close together | More dependent on the resort |
| Distance from airport | Farther | Closer |
| Independent exploration | Easy | Less convenient |
| Holiday style | City + beach | Resort-focused |
Central Nha Trang works well for first-time visitors who want the freedom to combine the beach with local food, cultural attractions and evening activities. You might spend one day exploring the islands, then keep the next day relaxed with places close to your hotel rather than travelling into the city each time.
TUI BLUE Nha Trang is a comfortable 5-star hotel in the city, located at 18 Tran Hung Dao Street. It is approximately 350 metres from the beach and around 30 km from Cam Ranh Airport.
Hotel guests can also use the hotel’s private beach area at TUI BLUE Nha Trang, which currently operates from 08:00 to 16:00. Parasols and loungers are limited and subject to availability. TUI BLUE Nha Trang also hosts live music nights at Xanh Ciao restaurant on selected evenings.

Cam Ranh and Bai Dai are better suited to travellers who expect to spend most of their holiday at a resort, close to the beach, without travelling into Nha Trang every day.
The clearest advantage is proximity to the airport. After a long flight from Moscow, this can make the final transfer on your first day considerably shorter.
The trade-off is that regular trips to central Nha Trang, Po Nagar Cham Towers, markets, restaurants or city attractions require more travelling. This option therefore works best when the resort itself is intended to be a major part of the holiday.
This is one of the most important practical considerations for travellers arriving from Russia.
Visa confirms that Visa cards issued by Russian financial institutions do not work outside Russia. Mastercard has likewise stated that cards issued by Russian banks are not supported by the Mastercard network for international use.
For this reason, do not travel to Vietnam expecting to rely solely on a Russian-issued Visa or Mastercard. Check directly with your bank before departure and prepare a legal alternative payment method compatible with your account and travel arrangements.
Vietnam uses the Vietnamese Dong (VND), and cash remains useful for smaller purchases at local eateries, markets and some transport services. When exchanging money, use a bank or authorised exchange provider and check the rate before completing the transaction.
For UnionPay or other payment networks, acceptance depends on both the issuing bank and the individual merchant. Confirm the current situation directly rather than relying on another traveller’s experience from several months earlier.
Having an internet connection as soon as you arrive at Cam Ranh makes the rest of the journey considerably easier. You can access maps, keep your hotel address available, translate information and contact your driver as soon as you leave the terminal.
Travellers with eSIM-compatible phones can arrange connectivity before flying. For a physical SIM, buy from an official retailer and follow the mobile operator’s subscriber registration requirements.
For a one- or two-week holiday, a dedicated mobile data package is generally more practical than depending entirely on hotel and restaurant Wi-Fi.
If you stay in the centre, many experiences can be reached with a combination of walking, taxis and ride-hailing services. There is usually no need to rent your own vehicle for the entire holiday.
Walking is particularly convenient around the beachfront, Tran Phu Street and parts of the city centre. For places farther away, such as Po Nagar Cham Towers or the harbour, a taxi is often easier, especially when travelling as a family.
A motorbike offers more independence, but it should not be treated as the default choice for international visitors. Before renting one, confirm which driving licence Vietnam recognises, the applicable insurance requirements and which types of vehicle you are legally permitted to operate.
For island tours and many full-day excursions, transport is usually included as part of the tour arrangement.

Start with the city’s own coastline. A morning walk or swim at Nha Trang Beach requires very little planning and gives your body time to adjust after a long flight and a four-hour time difference.
Once settled in, consider setting aside a separate day for Nha Trang Bay when sea conditions are suitable. The bay contains several islands and marine areas, with Hon Mun commonly included in itineraries focused on snorkelling and marine life.
If you plan to scuba dive or snorkel, choose an operator that clearly explains the destination, equipment, insurance arrangements and cancellation policy in case sea conditions deteriorate.
Po Nagar Cham Towers is one of the most accessible places for discovering Nha Trang’s cultural heritage. You can combine it with Long Son Pagoda or a walk through central neighbourhoods to see a side of the city beyond its beaches and hotels.
Guests staying at TUI BLUE Nha Trang can also alternate sightseeing with activities at the hotel. The current programme includes Creative Corner in the children’s playroom, Movie Night, pizza-making sessions and selected workshops that require advance reservations.

Before your departure date, check the following:
If you are flying directly from Moscow, check the specific Moscow airport shown on your ticket. Cam Ranh services may depart from different airports depending on the airline, so do not assume that every flight leaves from Sheremetyevo.
Yes. AZUR Air has confirmed the continuation of its Moscow–Cam Ranh programme for summer 2026, while current schedules also show direct Aeroflot flights from SVO to CXR. Frequencies vary by date and season, so check the schedule for your exact travel dates.
Current Aeroflot SVO–CXR services are shown with a flight time of around 10 hours 10 minutes. Flights from other Moscow airports may take around 10–11 hours. Connecting itineraries take longer depending on the transfer point and waiting time.
Russian citizens are currently eligible for visa-free stays of up to 45 days, provided they meet Vietnam’s entry requirements. The present exemption applies until 14 March 2028.
An e-visa may be an option. Vietnam currently issues e-visas valid for up to 90 days, with single- and multiple-entry options available.
Cam Ranh International Airport (CXR) serves Nha Trang. Direct flights from Moscow land there before passengers continue overland to Nha Trang.
Cam Ranh International Terminal currently estimates a journey of around 45-60 minutes by taxi, bus or private transfer, depending on the transport option and traffic conditions.
Russian-issued Visa and Mastercard cards should not be treated as usable international payment methods in Vietnam. Visa confirms that Visa cards issued in Russia do not operate outside Russia, while Mastercard has also suspended network support for cards issued by Russian banks.
Nha Trang uses UTC+7 and Moscow uses UTC+3, which means Nha Trang is four hours ahead. When it is 08:00 in Moscow, it is 12:00 in Nha Trang.
For beach activities, January to August generally offers more sunshine and lower rainfall. June to August is a peak travel period, while rainfall usually becomes more frequent from around mid-September to mid-December.
After the long journey from Moscow, staying in the city makes the beginning of the holiday straightforward. You can alternate between beach time, sightseeing and local dining without travelling from the Cam Ranh area into Nha Trang every day.
TUI BLUE Nha Trang is a comfortable 5-star hotel at 18 Tran Hung Dao Street. The hotel is approximately 350 metres from the beach and around 30 km from Cam Ranh International Airport.
Alongside its convenient location for exploring the city, guests can spend time at the private beach area, outdoor swimming pool or BLUE Spa. The private beach area is currently available to staying guests at no additional charge.
Russian travellers can also dine at Xanh Ciao restaurant, which offers a mix of Mediterranean cuisine, traditional Nha Trang specialties, and Vietnamese cuisine. Live music nights currently run from 19:00 to 21:00 on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, offering an easy-going evening option for days when you prefer to stay at the hotel after sightseeing.
